HE MARRIED, CLARA ELIZABETH WRIGHTSON, AT ST PETERS CHURCH, BARTON, ON 10/03/1902, AGED 19. THEY HAD FOUR SONS AND A DAUGHTER. WORKED AS AN INSURANCE AGENT AND SUP INTENDENT, LIVING AT 251, DURHAM ROAD, GRIMSBY (1911 CENSUS). DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 4.5 INCHES TALL, 125 LBS WEIGHT, 36-38 INCH CHEST, GREY EYES, DARK BROWN HAIR, SCAR ON FOREHEAD.

ENLISTED AT LINCOLN, ON 12/12/1915. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 25047, “B” COMPANY, 1/4TH LINCOLNSHIRE REGIMENT. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 16/09/1916. RETURNED SICK TO ENGLAND AND TRANSFERRED TO THE ROYAL ENGINEERS, ON 21/11/1917.

HE DIED OF INFLUENZA, AT SANDWICH MILITARY HOSPITAL, KENT, AT 5AM, ON 10/11/1918, AGED 36. HIS WIFE WAS WITH HIM WHEN HE DIED. HE HAD SERVED IN THE ARMY FOR 1 YEAR AND 334 DAYS. HE IS BURIED IN LINCOLN.

HIS WIFE CLARA ELIZABETH SIMPSON, AND FIVE CHILDREN MOVED TO BRACEBRIDGE HEATH, LINCS.
