McKee, Thomas Henry

BORN HULL 1890. SON OF GEORGE WILLIAM MCKEE (1857-1915) & SARAH HARRIET WHITE, OF 1 CALIDARE AVENUE, BRIGHTON STREET, HULL. ONE OF THREE BROTHERS LOST IN THE WAR. A FORMER DOCK LABOURER. HE LIVED IN NEWINGTON, SURREY. ENLISTED IN WESTMINSTER, MIDDLESEX. EX PRIVATE, 291576 ROYAL ARMY SERVICE CORPS. TRANSFERRED AS PRIVATE, 39444, 9TH ESSEX REGIMENT. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION IN FRANCE, ON 02/02/1918, AGED 28. HE IS BURIED AT ANZAC CEMETERY, SAILLY-SUR-LA-LYS.
HIS BROTHER, LANCE CORPORAL, JOHN EDWARD MCKEE, 7TH NORFOLK REGIMENT, WAS KILLED AT LOOS ON 03/10/1915, AGED 27. ANOTHER BROTHER, LANCE CORPORAL, GEORGE WILLIAM MCKEE, ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY, WAS ALSO KILLED AT LOOS, ON 08/10/1915. BOTH ARE COMMEMORATED ON THE LOOS MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
THEY LEFT SISTERS, ANNIE, FLORENCE, SARAH, ETHEL AND YOUNGEST BROTHER, RICHARD.
