Moore, Albert Victor

BORN HULL 1898. ONLY SON OF ALBERT STEWART MOORE (1863-1940) & GRACE ELIZABETH COKER (1875-1946), OF 8 ALBERT TERRACE, PEASE STREET, HULL, ARTHUR STREET, HULL AND 20 WELLS STREET, NEWINGTON, HULL. HE HAD TWO SISTERS, FLORENCE AND ANNE. WORKED FOR THE NORTH EASTERN RAILWAYS.

ENLISTED HULL. TRANSFERRED TO THE 2ND/4TH LEICESTERSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED DURING THE GERMAN SPRING OFFENSIVE, ON 23/3/1918, AGED 19. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 23/12/1918. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE RETURNED TO HIS FATHER, ALBERT.

HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE ARRAS MEMORIAL, FRANCE. ALSO ON THE WW1 MEMORIAL, AT ST JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH, NEWINGTON, HULL.
