BORN HULL 1895. SON OF HANNAH MARY COOPER (1865-1949) & JOHN CHARLES PADGET (1859-1913), OF 31 BROOK STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION & CWGC ADDRESS). HIS FATHER MANAGED A LODGING HOUSE. ONE OF FOUR CHILDREN. HE WORKED AS A GROCER BOY. HE ENLISTED HULL IN THE HULL PALS. SERVED AS PRIVATE, 13/368, “D” COMPANY, 13TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, IN EGYPT AND FRANCE. HE DIED OF PHTHISIS, ON 23/08/1921, AGED 26.

BURIED HEDON ROAD CEMETERY. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “THE LORD GIVETH & THE LORD TAKETH AWAY”.
HIS BROTHER, PTE. HERBERT PADGET, 4TH EYR, SERVED FROM SAME ADDRESS AND SURVIVED THE WAR. HIS YOUNGER BROTHER, WALTER DIED IN HULL IN 1925, AGED 24.
