Parkinson, Stanley

BORN HULL 18/9/1897. SON OF HENRY PARKINSON (1872-1939) AND MAUD SIMPSON (1872-1943) OF 10 EDWARD STREET, CLEETHORPES, GRIMSBY (CWGC ADDRESS). HE SERVED IN THE ROYAL NAVAL RESERVE, AS A DECKHAND ON THE TRAWLER “CALVIA”.  HE WAS ACCIDENTALLY KILLED, BY A GUN EXPLOSION, ON 19/11/1917, AGED 20. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE CHATHAM NAVAL MEMORIAL. HIS BROTHER, PRIVATE, FRED PARKINSON, 1215, 10TH LINCOLNSHIRE REGIMENT, WAS KILLED ON 01/07/1916, AGED 20. THEY WERE THEIR PARENTS ONLY SONS. THEY LEFT A YOUNGER SISTER, CALLED MAUD.
