BORN CHRISTCHURCH, NOTTINGHAM 1886. SON OF JOHN AND REBECCA PEGG, WHO RAN THE BOAT HOUSE INN, NEWARK. HIS MOTHER WAS BORN IN HULL. HE WORKED AS  A WOOD SAWYER. HE MARRIED LILY MAY BLOW, AT HULL, IN 1909. HIS WIFE LILLY AND SON RICHARD, LIVED AT 14 LEONARDS AVENUE, COURTNEY STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS). HE ENLISTED HULL. SERVED WITH THE 5TH COLDSTREAM GUARDS, A PIONEER BATTALION. DIED 02/02/1916, AGED 30, AS PER CWGC RECORDS.

HE IS BURIED AT RUE-DES-BERCEAUX MILITARY CEMETERY, RICHEBOURG-L’AVOUE, FRANCE.

HIS NAME IS LISTED ON THE HODGSON STREET SHRINE (HDM 20/10/1916) AND ON THE ST MARKS CHURCH MEMORIAL, WITH HIS BROTHER, PRIVATE, FRED PEGG, RASC, WHO DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 31/10/1917, AGED 33, AND LIVED AT SPYVEE STREET, HULL.
