BORN HULL 17/11/1895. SON OF JANE ELIZABETH JACKSON (1862-1929) & GEORGE THOMAS PROBY (1867-1910), OF 5 WOODBINE TERRACE, REYNOLDSON STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE HAD FOUR BROTHERS AND TWO SISTERS. AN ERRAND BOY.

ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 1/4TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. DIED OF HEART FAILURE, ON 29/08/1916, AGED ONLY 20.

HIS NAME IS LISTED ON CLIFTON STREET SCHOOL ROLL OF HONOUR. HE IS BURIED AT BAILLEULMONT COMMUNAL CEMETERY, PAS DE CALAIS, FRANCE. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “ALSO 200299 PRIVATE PATRICK GEORGE PROBY 4TH EAST YORKS REGT. AGE 23.”

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 6TH SEPTEMBER 1916, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH.*
