HE WORKED AS A TELEGRAPHIST MESSENGER. SERVED WITH THE 8TH POST OFFICE RIFLES. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 21/05/1916, AGED 22. COMMEMORATED ON THE ARRAS MEMORIAL.
HIS NAME IS LISTED ON HULL’S, ST JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH WW1 MEMORIAL. LOCAL CONNECTION UNKNOWN. NO OTHER SERVICE RECORDS FOUND.

HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER. HIS PENSION LEDGER ADDRESS WAS 33 ATHELSTAN ROAD, BOW, EAST LONDON. HIS WAR PENSION WAS LEFT TO HIS MOTHER AND TWO CHILDREN WHO DIED IN 1917 AND 1918.
