HE HAD ONE BROTHER AND FOUR SISTERS. A SINGLE MAN. EMPLOYED AS A BRASS MOULDER AND SAILOR. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 5 INCHES TALL, 36.5-40 INCH CHEST, 148 LBS WEIGHT, GOOD PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT.

HE ENLISTED IN THE HULL PALS, ON 17/11/1914. TRAINED AT BEVERLEY AND RIPON. SERVED IN EGYPT. ARRIVED FRANCE 08/03/1916. WOUNDED IN THE FOOT, ON 08/09/1916. RETURNED TO SERVICE ON 02/10/1916. KILLED IN ACTION, AT SERRE, ON 13/11/1916, AGED 23.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 31/07/1917. *
