BORN HULL 1894. SON OF WILLIAM & ANNIE ROBINSON ABOVE. CWGC, & MERCHANT NAVY ADDRESS. HIS FATHER WAS A TRAWLER SKIPPER AND HUMBER PILOT. SERVED AS THIRD HAND, ON ‘EDWARD B CARGILL’,. THE TRAWLER WAS MINED OFF SPURN POINT ON 18/11/1915, WITH THE LOSS OF ALL HANDS. HE WAS AGED 21. HIS DEATH IS REPORTED IN THE HULL TIMES, ON 18/12/1915, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. * HE IS RECORDED AS KILLED, ON HULL’S WELLSTED STREET ROLL OF HONOUR (Hull Daily Mail 25 September 1916)

Built as the EDWARD B. CARGILL for Cargill Steam Trawling Co Ltd, Hull; Yard No 206; Date of completion: 23/08/1898; 10 knots; In Jan 1914, tonnage adjusted to 73.7 net tons.
On the 15/11/1915 the Hull steam trawler EDWARD B. CARGILL (H.412) foundered and was lost after detonating a mine off Spurn Point, North Sea.
