BORN WOLD, NEWTON 1888. SON OF ROBERT RUDD (1851-1839) & JANE SMEDLEY (1850-1916), OF WEAVERTHORPE, GREAT DRIFFIELD AND PATRINTON. HE HAD FOUR BROTHERS AND FOUR SISTERS. WORKED AS A NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY’S RULLY MAN AND BOARDED AT 60, WHEELER STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS)

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS DRIVER, L/15741, 129TH ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 30/12/1915.

HE DIED AT RECKITTS, HOSPITAL, ON 15/11/1918, AGED 30. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER
