BORN HULL 28/12/1886. SON JAMES JOPLING RUMBLE (1860-1941) & REBECCA R. BURNHAM (1861-1903), OF VICTORIA TAVERN, WATERHOUSE LANE, HULL. ONE OF EIGHT CHILDREN AND THREE BROTHERS LOST IN THE WAR. SERVED IN THE ROYAL NAVAL RESERVE. DECKHAND ON HMS “PEKIN”. DIED ON 19/11/1916, AGED 29. BURIED IN SCULCOATES SACRISY, HULL.
HIS BROTHER, JOHN RUMBLE, SKIPPER OF THE FISHING VESSEL, “JERSEY”, WAS LOST AT SEA ON 05/11/1915, AGED 27. HIS OTHER BROTHER, LANCE CORPORAL, WATSON BURNHAM RUMBLE, 6TH EAST YORKSHIRE PIONEERS, WAS KILLED AT GALLIPOLI, ON 09/08/1915, AGED 20.
