A SAW MILL LABOURER ON HULL DOCKS.  HE RESIDED WITH HIS BROTHERS, PRIVATE, GEORGE SHANN, 2ND EYR AND CSM., JOHN SHANN RFA, AT 16, ABBEY STREET, HULL. THEY ARE PICTURED TOGETHER IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 21/09/1915.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS PRIVATE, 201000, 1ST EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 23/10/1918, AGED 31. BURIED ATVENDEGIES-AU-BOIS BRITISH CEMETERY, NORD, FRANCE .
