A HOUSE PAINTER. HE MARRIED AT ST JUDES CHURCH, HULL, ON 20/12/1914, AGED 24. HUSBAND OF ETHEL JEWITT, OF 56, ST MATTHEWS STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS) AND 47, CARRINGTON STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE ALSO HAD FAMILY AT 3, STRICKLAND STREET (1918 ABSENT VOTERS REGISTER).

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 26548, EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE MACHINE GUN CORPS. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 24/10/1918, AGED 28. BURIED AT ST SEVER CEMETERY, FRANCE.

HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, ETHEL SMITH.
