Taylor, Harold

Born Goosehill 1893. Son of Mary Ann and Samuel Arthur Taylor, of Goosehill, Normanton, Yorks. Son of a welsh coal Miner. Harold worked with his brother Fred, as a Colliery Banksman above ground. He had six sisters and a younger brother.

He enlisted at Leeds. Served in the 12th West Yorkshire Regiment. Posted to France on 10/09/1915. Killed in action on 27/09/1915, aged 22. Reported missing by Mrs Young at 34 Eton Street, Hull. Hull Daily Mail, 13/12/1915. * His half brother Sam lived at Gillette Street, Hull

His brother, Private, 16518, Fred Taylor, also served in the 12th West Yorkshire Regiment and died in France, on 21/01/1916, aged 21.
