Taylor, Harold

Born Goosehill 1893. Son of Mary Ann and Samuel Arthur Taylor, of Goosehill, Normanton, Yorks. Son of a Welsh coal Miner. Harold worked with his brother Fred, as a Colliery Banksman above ground. He had six sisters and a younger brother.

He enlisted at Leeds. Served in the 12th West Yorkshire Regiment. Posted to France on 10/09/1915. Killed in action at Loos, on 27/09/1915, aged 22. Reported missing by Mrs Young at 34 Eton Street, Hull. Hull Daily Mail, 13/12/1915. * His half brother Sam lived at Gillette Street, Hull and 34 Eton Street, Hull

His brother, Private, 16518, Fred Taylor, also served in the 12th West Yorkshire Regiment and died in France, on 21/01/1916, aged 21.
