BORN HULL 1877. SON OF WILLIAM HENRY TAYLOR.- 42 GEORGE STREET, HULL. EMPLOYED BY WILLIAM H. TAYLOR & SON, ESTATE AGENTS AND CERTIFIED ACCOUNTANTS, 42 GEORGE STREET, HULL. HE WAS A HIGH COURT AUDITOR. ALSO A SERGEANT IN THE 1ST EAST YORKSHIRE VOLUNTEERS. MEMBER OF THE PATRIOTIC RIFLE CLUB AND WAS A GOOD MARKSMAN. AN ACTIVE FRIENDLY SOCIETY WORKER, WHERE HE ASSISTED HIS BROTHER, ERNEST. A MEMBER OF THE CENTRAL BAPTIST CHURCH, HE TOOK A KEEN INTEREST IN MISSIONARY WORK.

HIS WIFE BESSIE (BAILEY) & 3 DAUGHTERS LIVED AT 7 PARK ROW, PARK STREET, HULL.

HE ENLISTED AT HULL, IN 1916. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 25238, EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE 2/4TH KINGS OWN YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY. HE WAS KILLED BY A SNIPER ON 29/08/1918, WHILE CROSSING THE BRIDGE AT MARCOING. HE WAS AGED 41. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE SENT TO HIS WIDOW, BESSIE AND THREE CHILDREN.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 28/10/1918, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
