BORN HOLME ON THE WOLDS, EAST RIDING, 1886. SON OF WILLIAM TEAL (1858-1929) AND MARGARET ELIZA THURL0W (1858-1918). SON OF A BLACKSMITH. HE HAD THREE BROTHERS AND THREE SISTERS. ENLISTED BEVERLEY. SERVED WITH THE 1/4TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 23/04/1917, AGED 30. HE LEFT £120 IN HIS WILL TO HIS FATHER, WILLIAM TEAL. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE ARRAS MEMORIAL.
His brother, Harry Teal, 1/4 York and Lancs regiment, was killed in action, on 12/06/1917, aged 22.
