BORN NORTH FERRIBY 1892. SON OF JOHN WILLIAM TINDILL (1854-1940) & ANN ELIZABETH (PARR) TINDILL (1857-1951), OF THE “SHIP INN”, SUTTON, HULL. SON OF A GARDENER. ONE OF EIGHT CHILDREN. HE WORKED AS A GARDENER’S HELP. HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS A BOMBARDIER, IN THE ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY. HE SERVED IN FRANCE, FROM 19/09/1915. TRANSFERRED TO THE MIDDLE EAST. DIED OF ACCIDENTAL INJURIES, AT 66TH CASUALTY CLEARING STATION, IN PALESTINE ON 28/09/1917, AGED 25. HE IS BURIED AT DEIR EL BELAH WAR CEMETERY. UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, ANN ELIZABETH.
