BORN HUGGATE, YORKS 1899. SON OF WILBERFOSS & THE LATE HANNAH TINEGATE, OF “HOLLY LODGE”, RAISETHORP, WHARRAM, MALTON. SON OF A GAME KEEPER.

HE ENLISTED AT BEVERLEY. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 82014, OF THE TRAINING RESERVE. HE TRANSFERRED TO THE 2ND KING’S OWN YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 10/09/1918, AGED 19. HE IS BURIED AT ROISEL COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION, SOMME, FRANCE.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 02/10/1918.

HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE CHERRY BURTON, WW1 MEMORIAL, EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE. ALSO ON THE LUND WW1 MEMORIAL BOARD
