BORN HULL 1897. SON OF HARRY SIMPSON. TURNER. & MARY E. TURNER, OF 64, ARGYLE STREET, HULL. EMPLOYED AS A CLERK AT RECKITT’S CANISTER WORKS.

HE ENLISTED IN BEVERLEY, ON 13/11/1915. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT 8 INCHES TALL, 35 INCH CHEST, 129 LBS WEIGHT.

SERVED WITH THE 12TH DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY. HE DIED OF WOUND,S ON 7/06/1917, AGED 20. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 28/07/1917. HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON THE RECKITTS WW1 MEMORIAL, HULL.

HIS OLDER BROTHER GUNNER, CHARLES ARTHUR TURNER, ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY, DIED OF WOUNDS ON 25/03/1918.

BOTH OF THE TURNER BROTHER NAMES ARE RECORDED ON THE GRAVE OF SARAH COULMAN, WHO DIED ON 06/08/1920 AND IS BURIED IN HULL WESTERN CEMETERY.
