BORN HULL 1878. WORKED AT RANKS FLOUR MILLS, HULL FOR 21 YEARS. HIS WIFE ALICE WAITES & FOUR CHILDREN, LIVED AT 8 OBAN AVENUE, DE LA POLE AVENUE, HULL. SHE LATER MOVED TO 32 CLAY PITS LANE, PELLON, HALIFAX.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, JANUARY 1915. SERVED AS A SADDLER, SERGEANT IN THE ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 09/04/1917, AGED 39. HE LEFT A WIDOW AND FOUR CHILDREN.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON THE 9TH, 14TH JULY 1917, AND 9TH APRIL 1918, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *

HIS BROTHER, 2ND LIEUTENANT, EDWARD, K. WAITE, WEST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, A HULL TAX INSPECTOR, ROSE THROUGH THE RANKS AND WAS AWARDED THE MILITARY CROSS. HDM 20/11/1917
