BORN HULL 06/03/1895. SON ROBERT HENRY WILBURN (1858-1950) & EMILY MARY FRANKS (1860-1899), AT 7, LINDEN GROVE, ARUNDLE STREET, HULL. HE LIVED AT 52 SHERBURN STREET, HOLDERNESS ROAD, HULL.

HE ENLISTED AUGUST 1915. SERVED WITH COLONEL SHAW, IN THE 4TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. WENT TO FRANCE APRIL 1915. WOUNDED AT YPRES IN MAY 1915 AND RETURNED TO ENGLAND. HE WAS SENT TO FRANCE AGAIN IN OCTOBER 1915. KILLED IN ACTION ON 23RD APRIL 1917. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH, IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 18TH MAY 1917. *

HIS ONLY BROTHER, SAPPER, CYRIL WILBURN, ROYAL ENGINEERS, SERVED IN MESOPOTANIA.
