HE ENLISTED AT WINCHESTER,  ON 10/10/1914, AGED 26. SERVED AS A RIFLEMAN, IN THE 1ST KING’S ROYAL RIFLE CORPS. HIS ARMY RECORDS DESCRIBE HIM AS 5 FOOT, 5.5 INCHES TALL, 119 LBS WEIGHT, 36.5 INCH CHEST, HAZEL EYES, BROWN HAIR, AND “GOOD” PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 20/11/1914. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 05/01/1915. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER HENRY WRIGHT, OF WELTON MANOR, BROUGH.  UNMARRIED. HE LEFT BROTHER, JACK AND SISTER KATHLEEN.

BURIED AT LE TOURET MILITARY CEMETERY, RICHEBOURG-L’AVOUE, PAS DE CALAIS, FRANCE.
