BORN HULL 1892. SON OF WILLIAM AND CLARA WRIGHT, OF 28  PARK VILLAS, COTTINGHAM, HULL. ASSISTANT SCHOOL MASTER AT NORTON COUNCIL SCHOOL, IN MALTON. SECRETARY OF THE MALTON, RIFLE CLUB. A MEMBER OF THE ST JOHN’S AMBULANCE BRIGADE. MEMBER OF THE CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH CHOIR. SERVED AS SECOND LIEUTENANT, IN THE 17TH WELSH FUSILIERS. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 12/07/1916, AGED 24. COMMEMORATED ON THE THIEPVAL MEMORIAL.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 22/07/1916. PROBATE ADDRESS ABOVE. HE LEFT £97 IN HIS WILL TO HIS FATHER, WILLIAM, WHO WAS A MERCHANT’S MANAGER.
