BORN HULL 1894. ELDEST SON OF JOHN HENRY BEAUTIMAN (1866-1939) AND BERTHA FOSTER (1873-1946), AT 95 BEAN STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS); 47, SPENCER STREET, HULL & 48, SOUTH PARADE, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESSES). SON OF A RAILWAY PORTER. ONE OF FIVE CHILDREN, LIVING AT THIS ADDRESS.

HE WAS A FORMER RAILWAY PORTER WORKING AT THE STEPNEY LANE STATION, BEVERLEY ROAD, HULL.
HE ENLISTED IN YORK, WITH HIS BROTHER HARRY. THEY BOTH JOINED THE 17TH NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS (RAILWAY PALS) WHICH WERE RECRUITED AT KING GEORGE DOCK, IN HULL. JOHN LATER TRANSFERRED TO THE 2ND BATTALION. HE DIED OF WOUNDS ON 04/11/1918, AGED 24. A WEEK BEFORE THE WAR ENDED.
UNMARRIED. HE LEFT SIBLINGS, HARRY, THOMAS, GEORGE AND LILLIAN.

HIS BROTHER THOMAS WILFRED BEAUTIMAN, WAS AWARDED THE SILVER WAR BADGE & DIED OF WOUNDS IN 1920 AND IS BURIED IN HULL.
