BORN HULL 1894. SON OF JOHN HENRY BLAYDON (1856-1929) & MARY HANNAH SHARP (1862-1904) OF HESSLE AND HULL. ONE OF TEN CHILDREN AND FOUR SONS, THREE OF WHICH DIED IN THE WAR. A PROFESSIONAL SOLDIER, LIKE HIS BROTHERS, AT THE OUTBREAK OF WAR. HE ENLISTED IN MANCHESTER. LIVED WITH HIS SISTER MRS SMITH AT 6 LEO TERRACE, WATERLOO STREET, HULL,. ERNEST DIED OF WOUNDS, AT GALLIPOLI, ON 15/06/1915, AGED 21. HE HAD SERVED FOR 5 YEARS. (SEE HULL TIMES 13/11/1915 & HDM 03/07/1915).
HIS DEATH AND PHOTOGRAPH APPEAR IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL 29TH JUNE 1915. *
HIS BROTHER, JOHN HENRY BLADON, SERVED TEN YEARS IN INDIA. HE WAS REPORTED MISSING, THEN WAS KILLED AT YPRES, ON 23/04/1915, AGED 30.
ANOTHER BROTHER, FRED BLADON, EYR, DIED OF WOUNDS ON 26/06/1919, AGED 21. HIS REMAINING BROTHER, GEORGE BLADON, SERVED WITH THE 2ND EYR AND SURVIVED THE WAR. HE LEFT SISTERS, JANE, CHARLOTTE, LILY,ELLEN BEATRICE AND DOROTHY.
HE IS COMMEMORATED: HELLES MEMORIAL TURKEY.
