BORN HULL 1896. LIVED IN HULL. SON OF CHARLOTTE DIBB, OF 14 ALBERT TERRACE, TERRY STREET AND SPYVEE STREET, HULL. HIS REAL NAME WAS ZACHARIA BOND. EMPLOYED AS A BREWER’S BOTTLE. HE ENLISTED IN BEVERLEY, ON 24/02/1912, UNDER THE NAME OF JOHN BOND. HE SERVED WITH THE 1ST EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, IN THE BRITISH EXPEDITIONARY FORCE. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 18/10/1914, AGED 18. UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WENT TO HIS MOTHER, WHO WAS A LOCAL GROCER’S DAUGHTER. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE PLOEGSTEERT MEMORIAL, BELGIUM. HIS NAME WAS ALSO LISTED ON THE SPYVEE STREET MEMORIAL. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON ON 28/06/1915.
