BORN ANLABY COMMON 1887. SON OF GEORGE HENRY BRODDLE (1860-1926) & EMMA ELIZABETH BRODDLE, OF 13, HULL ROAD, HULL. A FORMER RECKITT’S KW, WORKER AND MILKMAN.

HE MARRIED, MATILDA HANNAH ELIZABETH CHANDLER (1889-1975), AT SKIRLAUGH, IN NOVEMBER 1908. HIS WIFE MATILDA & FOUR CHILDREN, LIVED AT 10, OBAN AVENUE, DE LA POLE AVENUE, HULL (1911 CENSUS) AND 10, ROXBURGH STREET, PERTH STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION & CWGC ADDRESS).

HE ENLISTED AT BEVERLEY. SERVED WITH THE 13TH LINCOLNSHIRE REGIMENT IN THE LABOUR COMPANY. HE DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 22/04/1917, AGED 30. BURIED AT ETAPLES MILITARY CEMETERY, FRANCE. HIS WIDOW, MAILDA WAS AWARDED A WEEKLY WAR PENSION, OF 28/6, ON 29/10/1917

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 22/04/1918.
HIS BROTHER, SIDNEY BRODDLE, WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 23/08/1915, AGED 27.
