BORN HORNSEA 1899. ONLY CHILD OF TOM RICHMOND BUCKTROUT AND MRS EDITH MARY WHITING (1871-1957), OF 13 LINNAEUS STREET, HULL, AND 19, VICTORIA AVENUE, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HIS MOTHER RAN A BOARDING HOUSE AT 13, LINNAEUS STREET, HULL. HE WAS EDUCATED AT BRAMPTON HOUSE SCHOOL, HORNSEA.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS PRIVATE, 41317, 1/4TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. DIED OF WOUNDS, WHILST A PRISONER OF WAR, ON 23/04/1918, AGED 19. HE IS BURIED AT LILLE SOUTHERN CEMETERY, NORD, FRANCE.

HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, EDITH, WHO LATER MOVED TO 22 WESTWELL ROAD, STREATHAM, SOUTH WEST LONDON. SHE PUT AN ADVERTISEMENT IN THE PAPER REQUESTING MORE INFORMATION ON HIM.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 31/05/1918. HIS NAME IS ALSO LISTED ON ST MATTHEWS CHURCH, WAR MEMORIAL, BOULEVARD, HULL.
