BORN HULL 1893. SON OF HANSON BYCROFT (1855-1916) & ELIZABETH ROSS (1857-1943), OF 16 ROSAMUND STREET & 22 CHILTERN STREET, HULL. HE WORKED AS A CLERK AT BLUNDELL’S PAINT WORKS AND HAD BEEN WITH THE COMPANY SINCE THE AGE OF 14. (HDM 09/11/1917). HIS FATHER WAS A RAILWAY FISH CHECKER. HE WAS BROTHER TO HARRY, SYDNEY AND FLORENCE.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS LANCE CORPORAL, 19384, 21ST KING’S ROYAL RIFLE CORPS. THIS WAS HIS 1918 MILITARY VOTERS ADDRESS. HE DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 20/09/1917, AGED 24. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 9TH NOVEMBER 1917 & HIS PHOTOGRAPH PRINTED ON 4TH OCTOBER 1916.*
