BORN BEVERLEY, 1883.  SON OF THOMAS & EMMA CAMPEY, 50, WOOD LANE, BEVERLEY. HE LIVED HULL AT 84, SELBY STREET, HULL.

WORKED AS A CONDUCTOR FOR THE HULL CORPORATION TRAMWAYS.

HE ENLISTED AT HULL WHEN WAR BEGAN. SERVED IN THE 1ST KING’S ROYAL RIFLE CORPS. DIED OF FEVER, AS A PRISONER OF WAR, ON 21/04/1915, AGED 32.

HIS WIFE CECILLIA ROSALIE CAMPEY, MOVED TO 73, GROVEHILL ROAD, BEVERLEY.
HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON THE COTTINGHAM METHODIST CHURCH WW1 PLAQUE.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL TIMES ON 22/05/1915, GIVING HIS ADDRESS AS 84 SELBY STREET HULL.
HE IS BURIED AT HAMBURG CEMETERY. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “UNTIL THE DAY BREAKS AND WE MEET AGAIN”
