Born Elswick, 02/08/1894. Son of Henry Thompson Chapman and Mary Agnes Chapman, of 41, Kingsley Terrace, Newcastle-on-Tyne. A Lance Sergeant in the 16th Northumberland Fusilers. He died of wounds, received on the Somme, on 02/07/1916, aged 22. He left £106 in his will to his father, Henry, who was a Saddler. He died in Hull and is buried at Hull Western Cemetery.
