BORN WARNE, 1867. SON OF WILLIAM JENNINGS CLARIDGE. HIS FIRST WIFE WAS EVERLYN CLUBLEY (1853-1891). REMARRIED 30/06/1906. WIFE SUSANNAH JOHNSON ABOVE 1911 ADDRESS & LATER 6 WINSOR GROVE, MAIDEN ROW, LOUTH LINCS. EMPLOYED AS A GAS STOKER, FRO THE BRITISH GAS LIGHT COMPANY, HULL.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 23/09/1914, AS A SPECIAL RESERVIST. DESCRIBED IN ARMY MEDICAL RECORDS AS 5 FOOT 7 INCHES TALL, 117LBS, 37 INCH CHEST, BROWN EYES AND BROWN HAIR. DISCHARGED 23/07/1916 AND DIED AT HULL NAVAL HOSPITAL OF PROSTRATE CANCER. BURIED IN HULL WESTERN CEMETERY, AGED 49.
HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE BRITISH GAS LIGHT AND COKE COMPANY WAR MEMORIAL, KEPT AT THE FAKENHAM GAS WORKS MUSEUM, NORFOLK.
