ENLISTED HULL. SERVED AS PRIVATE, 11018, 9TH WEST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. WOUNDED AT GALLIPOLI ON 06/05/1915. HE DIED OF WOUNDS, AT ALEXANDRIA HOSPITAL, ON 26/11/1915, AGED 22. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER, CHARLES.
HIS PHOTOGRAPH AND DEATH WERE REPORTED IN THE HDM ON 06/12/1915, 24/11/1917 & 26/11/1919. ALSO IN THE HULL TIMES, ON 11/12/1915, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
HE IS BURIED AT ALEXANDRIA (CHATBY) MILITARY AND WAR MEMORIAL CEMETERY. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “HE DIED LIKE HIS COMRADES HEROES ALL”.
