BORN NEW HOLLAND, LINCS, 1898. SON OF HENRY COLGRAVE AND MARY JANE CASH (1862-1927), OF 4 ALASKA VILLAS, BARNSLEY STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS); 10 WENTWORTH AVENUE, FIELD STREET, HULL AND 6, CHARLOTTE’S TERRACE, BEETON STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). ONE OF THREE BROTHERS.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS LANCE CORPORAL, 201570, 7TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 17/05/1917, AGED 19.

HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE ARRAS MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 26/06/1917.
HIS BROTHER, LANCE CORPORAL, CHARLES WILLIAM COLGRAVE, 201527, 1/4TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, WAS KILLED ON 28/05/1918, AGED 28. ANOTHER BROTHER, SGT, HARRY COLGRAVE, WAS A PRISONER OF WAR.
