HE ENLISTED IN HULL UNDERAGE. SERVED AS PRIVATE, 23/334, 10TH DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 23/08/1917, AGED 17. UNMARRIED HIS MOTHER RECEIVED HIS ARMY EFFECTS.
HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE TYNE COT MEMORIAL.

HIS NAME IS LISTED ON THE NEW GEORGE STREET MEMORIAL AND AT ST CHARLES ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, JARRATT STREET, HULL.

HE WAS REPORTED AS MISSING IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 03/11/1917, AND LIVING AT THIS ARMY ADDRESS.
