BORN HULL 1895. ELDEST SON OF THOMAS & MARY COOPER, AT 212 BEAN STREET, HULL. EMPLOYED AS A  MINERAL PORTER FOR THE GREAT CENTRAL RAILWAY, ON THE HULL CORPORATION PIER.

ENLISTED AS PRIVATE, 22361, 11TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, IN HULL, ON 10/12/1915, AGED 20 YEARS AND 1 MONTH. TRAINED AS A BOMBER. ARRIVED IN FRANCE, ON 20/01/1916. WOUNDED IN ACTION, ON 28/07/1916. TRANSFERRED AS PRIVATE, 34448, TO THE 1/4TH YORK AND LANCASTER REGIMENT, ON 23/09/1916. WOUNDED BY A BULLET IN THE LEFT HAND, ON 10/06/1917. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 12/04/1918, AGED 23. HE IS COMMEMORATED AT THE TYNE COT CEMETERY.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 30/07/1919. *
UNMARRIED. HE LEFT PARENTS, BROTHERS, PERCY AND CHARLES, AND SISTERS, ANNIE, DOROTHY, ELSIE AND ETHEL AT 212 BEAN STREET, HULL.
