THE FAMILY MOVED TO 27 COLEPSO MOUNT, HOLBECK, LEEDS. A SINGLE MAN. HE WORKED AS A FOREMAN. HE ENLISTED IN LEEDS, ON 12/09/1914, AGED 26 YEARS AND 180 DAYS. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 7.5 INCHES TALL, 140 LBS WEIGHT, 37 INCH CHEST, HAZEL EYS, DARK BROWN HAIR, CHURCH OF ENGLAND RELIGION, “GOOD” PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT. HE SERVED AT GALLIPOLI FROM 30/06/1915. PROMOTED TO LANCE SERGEANT, 12357, 6TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION, IN FRANCE, ON 26/09/1916, AGED 28. HE HAD SERVED IN THE ARMY FOR 2 YEARS AND 15 DAYS.
