ENLISTED HULL. POSTED TO FRANCE WITH THE BRITISH EXPEDITIONARY FORCE IN 1914. SERVING WITH THE 1ST SIEGE BATTERY. HE WAS FEATURED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL REQUESTING FAG PAPERS (HDM 24/10/1914). PROMOTED TO SEGEANT. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, 23/07/1917, AGED 31.
HIS ARMY EFFECTS WENT TO HIS WIDOW ALICE M. COULSON, AT 27 , WALKER STREET, HULL. HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON THE WALKER STREET WW1 MEMORIAL.
HIS SISTER JENNIE LIVED 90 WAVERLEY STREET, HULL.
