BORN HULL 02/05/1885. SON OF JAMES & ELIZABETH CULLEN, OF HULL, OF 28, LIVERPOOL STREET, HESSLE ROAD, HULL (1911 CENSUS). HUSBAND OF FLORENCE CULLEN, OF OXFORD STREET, GRIMSBY, NORTH EAST LINCOLNSHIRE. HIS WAR PENSION ADDRESS WAS WEST DOCK AVENUE, HULL. HE HAD FOUR DAUGHTERS, MARY, FLORENCE, IVY & MARGARET.
On May 4th, 1916, the British navy trawler HMT Crownsin was sunk by a mine from the German submarine U-73 (Gustav Sieß), off Malta. 11 persons were killed.
