HE ENLISTED IN MANSFIELD, NOTTS. HE LIVED IN HULL. SERVED AS CORPORAL, 20988, WITH THE 2ND/6TH SHERWOOD FORESTERS. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 21/03/1918, AGED 30. BURIED AT QUEANT ROAD CEMETERY, BUISSY, FRANCE.

HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, FANNY MARTINDALE, AT 36. PRESTON ROAD, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).
