HIS WIFE FLORENCE CROWTHER (FORMERLY DAWSON), LIVED AT 10 VICTORIA TERRACE, LORNE STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS). HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 02/09/1914, AGED 22 YEARS AND 10 DAYS. SERVED AS PRIVATE, 11604, 3RD EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. HE WAS DISCHARGED ON 01/12/1914, AFTER 91 DAYS AS “UNLIKELY TO BE AN EFFICIENT SOLDIER”. CONSCRIPTED IN 1916. HE SERVED AS PRIVATE, 24920, 9TH KING’S OWN YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY. WAS KILLED AT PASSCHENDAELE, ON 04/10/1917, AGED 24.
