HE HAD OLDER BROTHERS. JOE AND FRED, THREE YOUNGER BROTHERS, EDWARD, FRANK AND ROBERT AND AN ELDER SISTERS, BEATRICE AND GERTRUDE. HE ENLISTED IN THE 13TH EAST YORKSHIRE (HULL PALS). SERVED IN EGYPT. ARRIVED IN FRANCE, ON 08/03/1916. TRANSFERRED TO THE 1/4TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 12/09/1917, AGED 21. HE IS BURIED AT HENINEL COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS OTHER OLDER SISTER, BEATRICE DREWERY, OF CAMPBELL STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS).
