BORN HULL 1880. SON OF JOHN CHARLES FRARY (1850-1923) & CHRISTINA MATILDA COLLIER (1856-1921), OF HULL AND CLEETHORPES. HE HAD THREE BROTHERS, JOHN, ALBERT AND WILLIAM AND TWO SISTERS, CHRISTINA AND MAY.
HE MARRIED AT ST MATHEWS CHURCH, HULL, ON 21ST JULY, 1908. HIS WIFE, ETHEL HARDY (DAWSON) & THREE DAUGHTERS, LIVED AT, 6, OLIVE GROVE, SOMERSET STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS) AND 13, FLORAL AVENUE, EDINBURGH STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE WAS A HULL DOCKER AND PLATER’S HELPER. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 3 INCHES TALL, 36/38 INCH CHEST, 141 LBS WEIGHT, GOOD PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT,
HE ENLISTED AT HULL, ON 11TH DECEMBER 1915. CALLED UP, ON 23RD MAY 1916. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 30TH AUGUST 1916. SERVED WITH THE 7TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 05/11/1916, AGED 36. COMMEMORATED ON THE THIEPVAL MEMORIAL.
