EX BLUNDELLS PAINT WORKER, WHERE HE HAD WORK SING AGED 14. HE MARRIED LILY RAMSDEN, AT HULL, IN 1905. HIS WIFE, LILY AND DAUGHTER, NORA LIVED AT THIS ADDRESS. HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVING IN THE SAME 6TH EAST YORKSHIRE PIONEERS AS HIS BROTHER. SERVED AT GALLOPOLI. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 26/09/1916, AGED 31. HE IS COMMEMORATED AT THE THIEPVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING ON THE SOMME.
HIS ELDER BROTHER, PRIVATE, JOHN PAGE GASCOIGNE, 17556, 6TH EAST YORKSHIRE PIONEERS, WAS KILLED IN ACTION, TWO DAYS BEFORE, ON 24/09/1916, AGED 36. THEY ARE BOTH COMMEMORATED ON THE THIEPVAL MEMORIAL.
