BORN HULL 1898. SON OF ADA GRAY, OF 68, WHARNCLIFFE STREET, CLARENDON STREET, HULL & 6. LAVINIA GROVE, WENLOCK STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).
HE BOARDED IN SOUTHWICK, SUSSEX (1901 CENSUS) AND LIVED AT 6, ELM TREE TERRACE, CLARENDON STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS). AN APPRENTICE ELECTRICIAN. HE WORKED FOR BLUNDELL, SPENCE AND CO.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 4TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 22/04/1917, AGED 19, AT NO:20 CASUALTY CLEARING STATION.
HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, ADA, SISTERS, GLADYS, AND BROTHER, CYRIL GRAY. TWO OF HIS BROTHERS SERVED IN FRANCE.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 21/05/1917. *
