BEFORE THE WAR, HE WORKED AS A GENERAL LABOURER, LIVING AT 12 RICHARDSON’S BUILDINGS, SYKES STREET, HULL.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS A DRIVER, IN THE ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY. DIED OF WOUNDS ON 26/11/1917, AGED 26.
HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE MENIN GATE MEMORIAL, YPRES, BELGIUM,
HIS NAME WAS RECORDED ON THE WAR MEMORIAL AT ST THOMAS CHURCH, CAMPBELL STREET, WHICH WAS DESTROYED IN AN AIR RAID DURING WW2.
