BORN ABERDEEN, SCOTLAND 1887. SON OF THE LATE WALTER HARDING (1859-1891) & STEPSON OF MARY NELSON (1853-1916), OF 27 STANIFORTH PLACE, HESSLE ROAD, HULL (ARMY ADDRESS). A FISH WORKER LIVING WITH HIS STEP FATHER, ALFRED NEALE (1862-1934).

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 14/09/1914, AGED 27 YEARS AND 10 MONTHS. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 7.5 INCHES TALL, 131 LBS WEIGHT, 34 INCH CHEST, FRESH COMPLEXION, GREY EYES, BROWN HAIR, TATTOO MARK ON LEFT FOREARM. DISCHARGED FROM THE ARMY WITH TUBERCULOSIS, ON 27/03/1916. HE DIED IN THE HULL SANTITORIUM OF CONSUMPTION, ON 10/06/1916, AGED 28. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 15/06/1916. *

HE HAD SERVED IN THE ARMY FOR 1 YEARS AND 196 DAYS. HE DIED ON 10/06/1916, AGED 28. UNMARRIED. HE LEFT SISTERS, LILY, MARY, FLORENCE AND KATE, AND STEP BROTHER, ALFRED. HE IS BURIED AT HULL WESTERN CEMETERY.
