Harrison, William Henry

BORN HULL 1899. SON OF ROBERT & ELIZABETH HARRISON, AT 3 JOHN’S PLACE DINSDALE SQUARE, NEW GEORGE STREET, HULL. SON OF AN OIL MILL LABOURER. HE HAD FIVE BROTHERS AND ONE SISTER. THREE BROTHERS DIED IN THE WAR.

HE ENLISTED HULL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 26756, EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE “LEEDS PALS”. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 12/04/1918, AGED 18. WILLIAM HENRY HARRISON IS COMMEMORATED AT THE PLOEGSTEERT MEMORIAL, BELGIUM. UNMARRIED.

HIS ARMY EFFECTS WENT TO BOTH PARENTS, WHO MOVED TO 18, MONTROSE AVENUE, GIBSON STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).

WILLIAM AND JOHN HARRISON ARE COMMEMORATED ON THE WW1 MEMORIAL, ST CHARLES BORROMEO CHURCH, JARRET STREET, HULL

HE LEFT BROTHERS, PETER AND FRED. HIS ELDEST BROTHER, SERGEANT, JOHN HARRISON, 7958, 1ST EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 09/08/1915, AGED 29, LEAVING A WIDOW AND DAUGHTER. HIS OTHER BROTHER, PRIVATE, ROBERT HARRISON, 61663, 1ST EAST YORKSHIRES WAS KILLED ON 01/07/1916, AGED 24.
