BORN STANLOW, CHESTER 1891. YOUNGEST SON OF ROBERT & CHARLOTTE HARVEY, OF 18 CYPRUS STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE RESIDED MARFLEET, HULL. HE HAD THREE OLDER BROTHERS AND ONE OLDER SISTER. A DOCK LABOURER (1911 CENSUS) AND STEAM PUMP DRIVER.  HIS ARMY ADDRESS WAS 18 CYPRUS STREET, HULL. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 7 INCHES TALL, 36 INCH CHEST, 162 LBS WEIGHT.

ENLISTED HULL ON 11/12/1915. CALLED UP ON 09/02/1916. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 26/05/1916. SERVED WITH THE 7TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. DIED OF WOUNDS, AT NO: 36 CASUALTY CLEARING STATION, ON 11/07/1916, AGED 25. HE IS BURIED ON THE SOMME. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE MARFLEET ROLL OF HONOUR, HULL.

HIS BROTHER, ROBERT PERCIVAL HARVEY, SERVED ON HMS “IMPREGNABLE” DURING THE WAR, BUT IS NOT LISTED ON THE MARFLEET MEMORIAL?
